Our Staff

Custom Bike Manager

Jeff Caulfield is the head of our custom bike building department. Jeff has a steady hand with the wrench and can build custom bikes faster than anyone else we have ever seen. By our estimates he has built about 2,000 custom Bilda Bikes. Jeff provides priceless feedback about the nuances of each bike that helps us to improve them every season. Jeff also has a Cannondale Caad 10 and enjoys riding road.

Store Manager

Hunter is the eyes and the ears of the shop. He oversees all operations. He is also a Cat 1 cross country mountain bike racer which means he is about as fast as it gets! He also rides road and gravel. He finished fourth this past year at the 2-day Hellhole Gravel Grind stage race. He started as a beach cruiser builder and has worked his way to the top. There is no doubt that this guy has a deep love for all kinds of bikes!


Shop owner. Founder of Bilda Bike, Coast Cycles, and Affordabike. Danny loves to ride all kinds of bikes. He races triathlon, XC mountain, and gravel. He loves to design urban bikes and commute by bike to work.

Head Mechanic/Fit Specialist

Matty is part mechanic/part fitter. He cut his teeth on bike fitting spending 3 years as the bike-guy at TrySports in Mt. Pleasant. After that he came to Affordabike. We sent him to an official GURU fit training and since then he has been steadily booked up! In his spare time, Matty likes to do endurance long-boarding events and he also enjoys riding gravel bikes.

Service Department Manager

David is an urban biker with a fine taste for classic bikes. He has a long history of building his own bikes from the frame up. David is a believer that steel is real and he has several steel bikes with impressive specs. He is a lifetime bike nerd and enjoys learning bizarre facts about bikes and their history!

Neil comes to us with 5 years experience managing Quality Bike Shop in Savannah, Ga. Neil has experience working with his local cycling advocacy group to improve trail systems and add bike lanes and greenways to the greater Savannah community. Neil loves riding mountain bikes in Pisgah but doesn’t mind slowing down to for a neighborhood cruise! He brings a friendly attitude and helps to manage our social media platforms. Last but not least, he has a 12 inch rat, prominently shown in his picture.

Colin comes to us after traveling the country by van and living in South Dakota. He is a touring cyclist and enjoys long trips in the saddle. He is well versed in the gear you need for extended riding and knows how to survive in the wild! He is the guy you should talk to if you are planning a bike-packing/touring trip!
